KIRK KIRKLAND – DIRECTOR, EDITOR, WRITER

A 15 year veteran of the film and television industry, currently living and working in Los Angeles. After attaining his MFA in Cinema and Photography, Kirk traveled the world as a freelance videographer and photographer, landing assignments in such diverse locales as Scotland, Austria, Nepal, and Bangladesh. From 1992 – 98, he worked as a senior editor at CNN in Atlanta, where he won an Emmy for his work on the Oklahoma City bombing. Two ACE nominations and a CINE award followed for his documentary work. He has written, produced, and edited award-winning documentaries and travelogues for clients such as The Travel Channel, MSNBC, The History Channel, A&E, VH1, CNN, TNN, and MTV. His recent credits include the MTV hit “The Osbournes,” “Boot Camp,” American Idol,” and “Next Action Star”.

No stranger to world travel, Kirk wanted CircleSpeak to be filmed primarily in England. His first documentary, “Off the Map: Guatemala”, was his directorial debut for The Travel Channel. Drawn to major events and transitions on the world stage, Kirk was in eastern Europe during the fall of communism, Egypt and Pakistan during the first Gulf War, and in Cambodia as it struggled to embrace democracy.

LAURENCE NEWNAM – PRODUCER, WRITER

Laurence Newnam has had a diverse career in such areas as affordable housing development, environmentalism, music, comedy writing, and screenwriting. He graduated with honors from the University of Virginia, and has lived in Washington, Montréal and southern California. He was a consultant on green building techniques and wrote the viewer's guide for the PBS environmental documentary series "Planet Neighborhood". As a freelance writer, he has had articles published in "Performing Songwriter", "Convergence", and other U.S. and U.K. publications.  His screenplays have won several national awards.  He has also become a well-known authority on the worldwide crop circle phenomenon, having done research, written articles, given lectures, and produced the acclaimed documentary “CircleSpeak”.  He currently lives in Los Angeles

THOMAS SORLIE – DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

With over 10 years of experience as a freelance camera operator, Tom has extensive experience in 16mm, 35mm and video formats. His credits include work as a camera operator or 1st AC on projects with National Geographic, BBC-TV, NOVA, the 1996 Olympic Film, and Ridley Scott and Associates.

Intrigued by Ambient music from an early age Diane’s self taught style and experiments have led her to create music and soundscapes that can evoke emotional responses. Also as an alternative healing practitioner in many modalities, Diane uses music and sound to facilitate transformation at the subconscious level.
