I think any film about crop circles has to reflect, necessarily, all the different viewpoints within it. It should try to present it honestly and not try to put an angle on it, which is the usual media killer. They are always looking to force an angle where there isnt one. The angle is this: weve got a beautiful mystery before us. Nobody knows the answer, not the skeptics, not the metaphysical believers. Its all somewhere in between. Andy Thomas, Author The production phase of CircleSpeak involved many in-depth interviews along with actual on-the-ground footage of the crop circle season as it played out during the summer of 2001. Over 50 people were interviewed at length, some several times over the course of the summer.
Production began in February, 2001 at Peter Sorensens former U.S. home in Pasadena, California.
The crew than moved to Laughlin, Nevada for the International UFO Conference, where several crop circle experts were speaking. Among those in attendance were Peter Sorensen, Andy Thomas, Ron Russell and Ed & Kris Sherwood.
The first trip to England was in May, 2001. During May and June, Foot and Mouth restrictions prevented researchers from entering the fields.
Here Stuart Dike and Mark Fussell are using a pole-mounted video camera to take photographs from the public footpath.
Private access to Stonehenge took months of advance planning and paperwork. The weather was not optimal for filming.
